IanHi all! I hope you are all doing well. So it’s Wednesday, 30th August 2023, and we are at the 10-day mark! Where has that time gone?!
It’s been a little while since I have updated everyone! It has been a busy few weeks as we approach our holiday. We have had a lot on at home to deal with, and we have had to make final plans for our holiday! We are starting to get excited now!
Firstly, we have been keeping a close eye on Storm Idalia; as of the time of writing, it has been upgraded to a category four storm and is battering the west coast of Florida. Looking at the path, it seems like it will hit Orlando, albeit less impactive than what is currently going on in Tampa Bay. Hopefully, this should not affect our holiday; by the time we get out there, it should have cleared. Our thoughts are with the people of Florida; keep safe out there!
Next, we have a few issues with Air Traffic control in the UK, which may affect our flight. During the Bank Holiday, air traffic control had a technical fault with their systems, which cancelled many flights. This has now been resolved, but there are predictions it will take days to recover. Hopefully, we’ll be OK by next Saturday, 9th September!
On to our plans, then! We are going to SeaWorld while we are out there! Mum finally decided she wanted to visit SeaWorld Orlando, which, if you read my last blog, was awesome and one of my favourite things to do out there! So I am looking forward to going then, we are going on Monday 11th September 2023.
Now, on to personal planning! I have had my haircut today, ready for our holiday; Mum had hers done the other day. We have everything ready now; we bought a few more essentials when we went to ASDA the other day. I got some swimming shorts, and Mum got a few shirts for the holiday! I bought Mum an AirTag for her suitcase so we know where her case is if it goes missing. It’s so close now!!
I have six more shifts at work before our holiday, and Mum has 4, so not much longer now! I will start packing on Monday when I’ll take you with me. I will have to finish on the Friday before we go to Gatwick as I don’t have much time beforehand; again, I will post along!
I have also been updating my Instagram more with things I have been getting up to, so feel free to take a look! While on holiday, I’ll be posting more pictures on there. Of course, there will be pictures here too!
