Hi there! Welcome to my site! My name is Ian Watkins. I live in Essex, United Kingdom (will be somewhere new soon!), and I have started blogging about my travels as I see the world!
I am 39 years old and have never travelled outside France or the UK. Unfortunately, when my brother and I were younger, we could never afford to travel further abroad, so I never had the opportunity to see the world. Now that I have reached a career milestone, I can start enjoying travelling. Ever since I was young, I have always wanted to travel the world, America specifically, as it has always fascinated me! I am starting my travels in Orlando, Florida, as I have always dreamt of going, and now I can! I am hoping this will be a new hobby of mine!
Alongside starting to travel, I love technology; I have always been the tech guy in the family and have been advising family and friends along the way. I am attracted to technology like a moth to a flame!!
I am an avid gamer. I play on all platforms, but I mainly use my PC. I got into gaming when I was young, when my brother and I got our first game console, the NES, from my awesome parents. This sparked the love of gaming for both my brother and me, and the rest is history, as they say! So maybe one day, I’ll open a gaming blog!
With that, I love cinema; I have been a limitless/unlimited member of different cinemas for over ten years. I love going to the cinema, sitting back, and enjoying a film. It took a bit of courage to go on my own, but I did, and I love it. I don’t have a specific genre I enjoy; I watch whatever sounds interesting (aside from horror movies…).
I chose a career in healthcare, and I have been in it for over 17 years. I started in patient transport and worked my way up through the roles within the Ambulance service. This is where most of my time has been taken. Finally, in August 2021, I achieved my career goal of becoming a Paramedic. It wasn’t easy, and at times it wasn’t easy, but I got there. I love helping patients in their time of need and supporting them.
Unfortunately, in 2025, I had to take a career break, but I am slowly building back up! Starting in 2026, I will be doing something completely different for work, which I will explain later in the year!
I will remain a Paramedic, but I won’t be full-time and will focus on events and other work, such as airport transfers to hospitals and film sets.
Over the last 3 years, I have made a best friend and in the most unusual way too! We are awesome travel partners and love exploring the world together. Over the last few years, we have travelled together to places I have never been, and my best friend has been my guide and confidant as I move through life!
So that’s a brief bit of information on me.
