Again, I woke up quite early, but I’m still not sure why! I went to bed normally last night but still woke up at 06:15! I decided I’d finish packing and catch up on a few YouTube videos before going down for breakfast. I got showered and headed downstairs. Likewise, I had the same as the last few days, but I still enjoyed it!

With my breakfast done, it was time for me to pack up my car and go home! I did a once-over to make sure I hadn’t forgotten something, and at 09:30, I went home!

The drive was OK; it was about 3 hours getting back; it didn’t help that for about 10 minutes, I was in standstill traffic trying to get on the A14. That was a bad mistake! I should have continued on the M1 and jumped on the M25. I don’t quite understand why the sat nav took me away from home… but there you go. The A14 had no decent services either; I stopped at McDonald’s, which felt odd! I’ll use the M1 and M25 in the future, and at least there will be decent services!!

Now that I am home, I can sit back and look at my last three days—and I had a great time! The hotel was superb, and I felt really at home there. The breakfast was awesome, too! First up in my review of this week was Sunday.

By far, seeing Michael McIntyre made the trip! I enjoyed the show, and I kept laughing! I am so glad I had the opportunity to go and see him! Although the arena was OK, I was not too fond of the chairs; they are crammed together, and you are up close and personal with showgoers. Now I understand why it is done like that: to ensure as many people get to see him as possible. I wish it were more comfy. I’ll arrange front seats in the future, so I have more legroom! But awesome nonetheless!!

Day 2 saw me heading to the City of Caves; this was very interesting! I learnt a lot! The underground was used for many things, including hiding from the authorities, as air raid shelters and even as a tannery centuries ago! I was pleasantly surprised with this! I learnt there was a whole cave network under Nottngham, and people still use their caves today!

Finally, yesterday, I headed to Nottingham Castle! Again, I found this really interesting. I wished it was a little bigger, but I still enjoyed the stroll around the grounds! I also went to the cinema, which was good!

Overall, I had a good few days. I enjoyed my trip to Nottingham and will happily go again! I know I will be booking Hilton hotels wherever possible in future!! Thanks for reading along! I do not have another trip planned currently, but I hope to have one scheduled soon! See you there!

First things first! Time for breakfast! I didn’t sleep as well as I did the night before, last night. I was up by 06:20 not sure why, there was movement upstairs which probably didn’t help! After I woke up and got showered I headed downstairs for breakfast! Today I had the full English and some breakfast cereal!

After breakfast, I headed back upstairs, I was waiting for a phone call as had to deal with something in my personal life, but they didn’t call instead sent a message which annoyed me a little as I would have gone earlier! Anyway with that out of the way I headed over the Nottingham Castle! As I learnt from the City of Caves tour, there isn’t a castle there any more as it was destroyed by rebels, instead a country house was build on the remains of the castle, and it is now a museum about the castle! It was quite interesting! Here are a few pictures!

After my tour of the castle which was admittedly a little smaller than I had thought, I headed for lunch before the cinema, this time I had Subway which was nice! After that I headed to Cineworld. This cinema is huge! It’s spread across two floors!! Can you believe that? Anyway I saw Lisa Frankenstein which was an OK film, a little slow in places, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The seats were comfy too!

I was going to go to the gym today but decided against it and wanted to relax in my hotel room. That is what I did this afternoon! Dinner today is Chopstix noddles bar here is a picture!

Once I had dinner I headed back to the hotel room, nothing particularly planned for this evening! What are holidays for if you can’t relax! And with that my last full day came to an end! Tomorrow I will be heading home! Luckily it is only a 2 and a half hour drive! See ya tomorrow for my last day and going home day, I’ll do a little review of my week this week tomorrow too! First things first – first night review! So last night was my first night at Hilton in Nottingham, I actually slept really well last night which was good! I turned off my alarm and slept in! I woke up at 07:55 which is quite late for me! I felt refreshed and relaxed. The bed was comfy, and the room was great! I headed to the shower and went down for breakfast – it was awesome! Definitely the best Breakfast I have had in a hotel!! Here are a few pictures.

I was really impressed! Anyway once I had my breakfast it was time for me to head to the City of Caves, it was only a 10-minute walk from the hotel so that wasn’t too bad!

I arrived slightly earlier than my arrival time of 11:00am, but the staff were friendly and showed me where to go. I had a guided tour of the caves and it was fascinating! I learned a lot from my time down there. It has been used for years for all sorts of different stuff! Here are a few pictures:

The tour lasted about an hour, so after I was finished I explored Nottingham a little, I walked around and went to the shopping centre which was huge!

I didn’t really have anything planned for this afternoon, so I just headed to the gym, which was quite small to be honest! I will probably use The Gym opposite the hotel tomorrow! It was a good gym, but it was quite busy! Got in a 30-minute work out then headed back to my room for a shower. I then headed out again to get some dinner for the night!

For the evening, I will just be relaxing in my hotel room and chilling out. I am long overdue a rest! Tomorrow I will be going to Nottingham Castle, which should be good! I will also head to The Gym in the afternoon. If you can think of anything else I can do, please let me know! For now, good night and see you tomorrow!

Hi all! Welcome to my second trip of the year! This time I have gone to Nottingham! I am staying at Hilton Nottingham, which so far is an awesome hotel…despite a mix-up! But more on that later! The drive-up was not too bad, certainly not as bad as Plymouth! It was a 2-hour and 30-minute drive, I only needed to stop once! Although finding Hilton Nottingham is another story completely!

After my 30-minute stop at one of the service stations I arrived in Nottingham, and I’ll be honest, it was confusing to say the least! It appears they are doing some work to the buildings here, but it is also causing confusion! I followed the sign to Hilton Nottingham, and it took me around the block….finally, I found the car park I needed to park in and walked over to the Hilton.

I arrived at the hotel and unfortunately there was a bit of a mess-up, I choose my room the other day when I had the option to check in I choose 609 which is on the top floor, it was also an upgrade, but I thought I would treat myself. However, due to some system error, the room was given to someone else, it was a King Deluxe Room. I said I would just go back to my original room, and I’ll pay less, however Hilton were so good that they said due to the error they would upgrade me! I ended up being in a Family Deluxe Room, which huge! Furthermore, I was pleasantly impressed! Here is a room tour:

So, next up was for me to get some dinner, there is a load of fast food restaurants in Nottingham, I decided to go to Taco Bell as I have not been there for a long while! It was excellent!

After dinner, I headed back to the hotel and rested for a little while before I headed over to Motorpoint Arena. It wasn’t a long walk, and I basically followed everyone else! It was a huge arena and very busy, but that is expected! The seats were not the best, but I still really enjoyed the show, I haven’t to laughed as much as that in a long while!! After the show, I headed back to the hotel and relaxed. I had an awesome evening and I really enjoyed the show. I am so glad I got the opportunity to go and see Michael McIntyre. It was awesome! Tomorrow I am heading to the City of Caves in Nottingham which my friend recommanded, then heading to the on site gym in the afternoon. Good night!
