Despite not getting to see Michael McIntyre, I did enjoy my little break. I think Plymouth is a really nice place and I want to explore it in the future! This week I have explored Plymouth and went to the Aquarium! In the morning, I finished packing up and made sure I had everything I took up. After I have done that, I headed to the restaurant and had my breakfast before the longest journey I have had in a while!

The first stop along the route was a Welcome Break. I had been driving for about 2 hours 30 minutes at this point, and I needed to have a break! I grabbed a coffee and sat down for a little while before continuing the journey.

The second stop was for lunch, I had been driving for 3 hours 30 at this point and still had an hour so had to stop for lunch, I stopped and had KFC then got stuck in traffic! It took a further 1 hour 20 to get home due to traffic!!

Anyway, with that done, I put my stuff away and chilled the rest of the evening! Overall I had a good time in Plymouth, I was disappointed with the show being cancelled, but I can understand. I will probably go back to Plymouth as there is more to explore!!

My next trip will be Nottingham on the 10th March, hopefully this time I will actually get to see Michael McIntyre! Thanks for following along with this boring blog, and see ya in a few weeks!

Today marks my last full day in Plymouth, it has been a great few days! I was initially meant to see Michael McIntyre, but the show got cancelled at the last minute, which was extremely disappointed! But more on that a little later. I didn’t have much planned today, as the show was the only thing I was going to do! Firstly, though, it was time for my breakfast, so I headed downstairs and had breakfast.

Although I did not have much planned today, I did make sure I went to the gym, and it was a large gym too! Much bigger than Chelmsford! I had a good session!

After I went to the gym, I popped to Morrison’s and grabbed lunch. Nothing really exciting, just a meal deal. I then headed to the hotel and rested for the afternoon with my audiobook! I booked dinner for 17:30 as I was meant to go to the show, this is what I had today:

So, unfortunately, as I said above, the show got cancelled. I was just waiting for my dinner surfing my phone, then on Facebook I saw the show had been cancelled…. I was gutted, to say the least! Furthermore, I planned this trip to see him! But I do understand that people can suddenly become unwell, I see it in my job! Just wish we had more notice! But get well soon, Michael Mcintrye, and see you soon! So they will reschedule the event, but it is unlikely I will be able to go, so will have to get a refund. So my evening completely changed! I decided I would chill for the rest of the evening!

Tomorrow will see me heading home, I have booked my breakfast fairly early so I can start to drive fairly early tomorrow as it is a long drive back. I have a great time, just disappointed that the event was cancelled. So see ya tomorrow!

First stop of the day is to go and grab breakfast! I have breakfast included with the meal deal I have for the duration of my stay. I slept well last night, despite the duvet being too hot! They really should have the option to have a thin duvet, really! I went and had a shower and headed downstairs

I have an entrance time to the National Marine Aquarium (NMA) of 10:30 so after I had breakfast I chilled in the hotel room and headed off for a short walk to the NMA. The walk itself from my hotel is about 3–4 minutes, so not long at all really! I wanted to do a bit of an explore while I waited, so I had a wonder round the harbour. Weather was not on my side today!

As 10:30 approached, I headed over to the NMA, so I was ready. They do a great deal that with one purchase you get an annual pass for free! So if I choose to come back, I can visit for free! I scanned my ticket with the friendly staff member and started to explore the aquarium!

The aquarium is split into different areas, so my first stop was the small fish area, then followed by “British Coasts” which basically has fish from the British coast. Here are a few photos!

There is a one way system at this place, so you basically follow it around and get to see all of the areas! The next area was Atlantic Ocean! They do free shows here which I think is cool, I visited when there was not a show on. Perhaps now I have an annual pass I might go for a show! Anyway, Atlantic Ocean had the shark encounter, it was great and you learn a lot! Not as good a Sea World in Florida though! Here are some pictures:

The final area is The Great Barrier Reef, which was also a good area! I do love an aquarium! Here are a few pictures:

All in all it took me about 30 minutes to go through the aquarium, it was an excellent aquarium, but I can’t help but think maybe I set my expectations high as I saw this was the largest aquarium in the UK. I think I might have been spoiled by Florida!!

With the NMA done, I decided I would explore Plymouth! For 2 reasons really. One to have a look and see what Plymouth has to offer, and two to see if I can walk to the Pavilion tomorrow night! I ended up going on a magical mystery tour, so couldn’t really judge!!

It was nice to explore the area, they have a large marina and city centre, they even have a shopping centre which was quite good, it had an Apple shop which if you live in the UK know it’s extremely rare!! So I continued to explore.

At this point I was getting tired as I had already walked 12500 steps! It was also time for lunch, so I decided I wanted Five Guys, as I have not had one in a long while!

This was awesome! Also, very filling! By this point I had run out of steam really as I had walked around in a circle, partly my fault for not following the signs! I decided it would be a good idea to head back to the hotel and relax the rest of the afternoon.

I ended up sleeping a bit and then speaking to my best friend on the phone for over 4 hours! It was nice to chat to them! I was able to relax and chill! Now it was time for dinner. Luckily I did not have the same issue as I did yesterday, however there was a long wait for food which irritated me a little! Here is what I had:

With that done, it was time for me to retire to my room and write this blog and relax for the rest of the evening! Not much really planned tomorrow apart from the show in the evening which I am really looking forward to! I might head to the lighthouse in the morning after my gym session!

So, my 3 day trip to Plymouth started today! My first trip of 2024. Initally I was not that excited but as I became closer to leaving I started to get excited. The journay took about 4 hours and 30 minutes, not inluding breaks. I definally needed break though! It was a tiring drive albeit a simple drive as I only had to follow a few roads! I stopped twice, once to strech my legs and grab coffee and a second time for lunch.

I still get excited with stopping at service stations! My friend thinks I am mad but for someone who has never done it before, although I can see it getting quite boring! The prices are insane at service stations as well! My lunch today was not to most healthy, I grabbed a Burger King and enjoyed it!

The drive was smooth as I said above it was fairly straightfoward better than I thought it would be! I was able to use cruise control for most of the way and listened to an audio book which was good! Including breaks I think the journey took about 6 hours or so, I left home at 09:30 and arrived at Plymouth and stopped at Sainsburys for supplies about 16:00.

Finally I arrived at my hotel and checked in, it seems like a good hotel. Overall the room is nice though, it will be comfortable for my stay! Parking seems OK as well, there were a few spaces by the time I arrived which was good! Hopefully it will stay that way as I need to hit the Gym while I am here! Here is a room tour!

I have meal voulchers for my 3 day stay. I selected my dinner time as 1915 and Breakfast as 0815, seems resonable! They are booked up a bit this week by the looks of it but that might be become of Michael Mcintyre. Here is what I had for dinner:

Unfortunately, they lost my order…inhad to wait 38 minutes before they realised! I was annoyed with that because I was hungry! I did get a free drink and an apology so that was OK! Here is my desert:

After the long delay I headed back to the room and started to unpack and then just chilled for the rest of the evening!

Tomorrow I am going to the National Aquarium just across the way from the hotel. It is the biggest Aquarium in the UK so I am looking forward to it! After my visit I may head to the gym. Not sure yet! So join me tomorrow!

So, as I said above, it’s been a busy few months! I have been making plans but not much has moved forward yet. I am just waiting to see what I can do about work before we plan more trips! I have made one confirmed plan though! Which I am about to talk about now!

My first trip of 2024 is…. Plymouth! I will be heading over to Devon on the 27th of February 2024 for 3 nights. It should be good! The last time I went to Plymouth was in Plympton which is where my Aunt and Uncle were for a period of time. I don’t remember much though as I was quite young!

I am going to see Michael McIntyre on the last night which will be awesome. I am planning on exploring Plymouth a bit on the other days. I want to go to the National Marine Aquarium which is one of the biggest Aquariums in the UK. I have always liked sealife!

I will of course have a look around and explore Plymouth a bit, I am only there for 3 days so I won’t be able explore it all, but I am looking forward to it! I will take you along for the ride even if it might be slightly boring!!

For the rest of the year, currently there are 2 trips planned, Canada and Lake District. Unfortunately, we don’t know when we can do those trips and is dependent on work but hopefully, we will be able to have an update regarding those two trips soon! We are just waiting on work to settle down and see what we can do. I also want to do some mini breaks on my days off to European countries, but nothing is set in stone on that yet!

The next confirmed trip is in November 2024, which of course is mum and I’s trip to Orlando, Florida! Flights have already been booked and a deposit has been put on our accommodation which is Cabana Bay. We need to pay for that soon! So planning is well under way for our next Florida trip!

Other than that, who knows?! We could end up anywhere and we have a whole year to fit it in! Let’s see what 2024 brings us!
