Last time I left you, it was at the end of our awesome Malta birthday holiday! I did say I’d do a travel home day blog, but it didn’t materialise! So I am sorry about that! By the time we got home (and it was an adventurous journey home to say the least…) I was exhausted, and I wanted to focus on unpacking and hit the sack. As with any end of the holiday, life just continued on without a blink of an eye!

As we all know, the middle of November through the middle of January is a very hectic, busy time, including Christmas and New Year. It goes so quickly, you miss it! I ended the year on a positive note, despite it being a rough year for me.

Now, let me explain where the website went! I have been looking to save some money on my monthly spend, so I opted to shut down my old VPS because I was paying a lot and not really seeing the value! However, I missed blogging to you guys, so I found a brand-new host! This new host is still on a VPS but is £10 cheaper and not tied to a year’s contract! So I will be resuming posts soon!

We are now 2 months into 2026, and some big changes are coming soon. Firstly, I will be going back to a full-time job soon (after being self-employed for the last 10 months), which will bring in more money and mean more travelling! Also, I will be relocating soon! I won’t go into details now, as things are still being finalised, but hopefully I’ll be able to share with you all soon!

Expect more blogs from me over the coming year, as I will have a better income flow and be able to travel more. Plans are underway for my 40th birthday: we will be going away with my friend again in November, and this time, all the family is invited! On top of that, we plan to take a few short breaks around Europe soon as we both settle into our new jobs. I will also be focusing on my fitness, as it’s about time I got myself sorted! I also want to resume local UK trips soon, as I missed doing those!

Hi all… wow…. it has been an age since I updated this website!! And boy, what a last 6 months it has been…. So some of you know that there was a fairly big change in my working life this year, and it has happened so quickly, too! I won’t go into details here because it is public, but don’t worry, things are looking up again, and we can move on!

Due to this change, I have not been able to do what I would have liked to this year, and to be honest, it has been very difficult for me to process everything! But onward and upward! I will be updating more often and hope you continue to follow along with me!

So what is going on with my travels? So it was put on hold for the last 6 months, but that is ok! I do have some news, though! In two days, we are heading to our next trip! Finally! I have been itching to get back to travelling! So, where are we going, I hear you say?!

Well, without further ado…. we are heading to…. Malta!! We are going for a week, and it encompasses both my birthday and my friend’s, and boy, do we both need this holiday!

We are flying out of Gatwick on Wednesday, 5th November 2025. We are going business class and are staying at an awesome hotel (well, according to the reviews!) called The Solana hotel! The photos look great! We have quite a packed week, but that’s fine with me as I get to see new things! I am going with my friend and my mum, so it should be great!

As usual, I will be blogging along the way so you can see what we get up to! Starting with tomorrow! So please join me as we prepare for our trip to Malta! We need the break and I am very much looking forward to it!!

Hi all! I know it’s been a little while since we last spoke; it was at the end of last year! It has been a manic first 3 months of the year, and a few changes are heading my way! But that is a story for another day! Today, I am giving you an update on my trip to Portugal in 7 days!

So, today marks 7 days until my friend and I head to Portugal! We are all paid, the hotel is booked, and my friend has a busy few days planned for us! We are flying out of Heathrow and are flying with British Airways in business class. I have never flown BA or business class, so I am excited about this! We are away for 4 days so a nice short break to relax us!

Our flight leaves at 09:15 in the morning, so that it will be an early start for us. It’s just under a 3-hour flight, so not too long. As it is business class, we get a meal too, which seems a bit weird! I have never flown business, so this will undoubtedly be an experience! We are planning on arriving in Portugal at 1300 their time.

We have chosen the Hotel Palácio in Estoril, about 20 minutes from the airport. Another new experience is that this is a 5-star hotel…. which I have never been to in my life!! So I am really looking forward to exploring the hotel! It looks amazing! My friend has expensive tastes!

As for the plans for the 4 days, I am a little in the dark, my friend has kept some details secret so it’ll be a surprise for me too! I know we are going to the aquarium in Lisborn, which looks incredible!

Currently, there aren’t any plans for more trips this year, but I will definitely be going on some trips as my life calms down a bit and I have some stability, so don’t worry. I will still be blogging my newbie experience!

Anyway, You can expect daily blogs as I blog my experience with you all! I will start with my packing blog tomorrow as I pack for next week! So see you tomorrow!

Well, here we are at the end of 2024 and boy, what a year it has been for me! I have done two abroad and 3 UK trips, which has been amazing! It wasn’t exactly what we had planned, but it was great nonetheless! Like last year, I will review what I have done over the year and what is ahead for 2025! First up, Plymouth!

Plymouth 2024

My first trip of the year was in February to Plymouth! I went there to see Michael Mcintyre as I have always wanted to see him live at a show! Unfortunately, it was not to be, as he had to cancel at the last minute due to bad health. But I still loved it!

Day one saw me travelling to Plymouth; it was a 4-and-a-half-hour drive! I love a road trip, so it was brilliant. I did not do a lot apart from settling in.

Day two saw me explore the National Marine Aquarium, which was awesome! It was a vast Aquarium, and I loved it! I love a good aquarium!

Day three was a bit of a non-starter, as, unfortunately, Michael Mcintyre had to cancel the show due to his health. Unfortunately, we only found out that evening, but I totally understand! I still had a great time in Plymouth.

Overall, I enjoyed Plymouth; I would definitely go back! There is still more to see, and hopefully, I can explore a little bit more next time!

Nottingham 2024

In March, I headed to Nottingham, this time to actually see Michael Mcintyre! I loved Nottingham. There are plans in the works that might see me moving there soon! But, on to the breakaway. This was my first time in a Hilton, too!

Day one saw me travelling again; this time, it wasn’t too long; it was only two and a half hours, but I still had to stop a little while! I was staying at the Hilton on the high street, and it was a great hotel! I ended up getting an upgrade, too, as they messed up my booking! In the evening, I actually got to see Michael Mcintyre and loved it! I will see him again!

On day two, I decided to explore the City of Caves as my friend recommended it, and I was not disappointed; it was fascinating to learn about the history of Nottingham over the years!

Next was day three and I decided I wanted to explore Nottingham castle, which was good and I even went to the cinema! Overall, it was a good day!

I think Nottingham was the best UK place I explored this year; it just had character, and I look forward to this being my new home town.

York 2024

I headed to York for a short break away at the beginning of July. It wasn’t as exciting as my other trips as it turned out there wasn’t a lot to do there, but I enjoyed the break overall.

Day one just had me travelling and arriving at the hotel, which, surprise, surprise, was another Hilton! I think I love Hitons now! I settled in and got some supplies from the local Tesco Express!

Day two saw me exploring York and seeing what it has to offer; it was a lovely little town which showed its age! It also has the city mainly encompassed around an interesting wall!

Day three was a relaxing kind of day. I relaxed around the hotel and finished the wall; it was a great day, and it helped me chill. I am ready to return to work!

Overall, York was my least favourite; it was a lovely little city, but it just felt empty; the castle was just a museum, which is fine, but I love going around and looking at castles! I probably won’t go back there again unless I missed something!

Spain 2024

So, I had a random break at the end of July, my friend and I headed to Spain! She asked me if I wanted to go earlier in the month for a break aboard, and I said yes. It was a good day even though we only spent a day there!

Day 0 was just a packing and preparing day! Not much to talk about here!

Day 1 was our travel day! It was a long day as we had to be up early to arrive at the airport in time. It was a short 2-hour flight, so that was good. We should have dropped our bags off at the hotel, though, as we carried it around all day, and it ached! Lesson learned!

Overall, Spain was brilliant! I want to go again, but this time, have a little more time there; it felt a little rushed as we pretty much took off in the morning, went around Barcelona, went to the hotel, went to sleep and got up and went home again a bit quick but good!

Florida 2024

And so, my last trip of 2024! In November, my mum and I returned to Orlando for two weeks. We had a fantastic time, and we loved everything about it. We could have done better, but some great memories were made overall!

Day 0 and Day 1 saw us travelling over to Orlando; unfortunately, we were delayed by 2 hours, which caused us to arrive in the dark and not really having much time in the evening.

On day 2, we went to Walmart and explored Universal’s City Walk and scouted out the restaurants we wanted to do, which didn’t actually happen!

Day 3 saw the wettest day I have experienced in Orlando, but we picked the perfect thing – the Mall! (Or shopping centre for us Brits) We went to Orlando Mall, which was nice, and saw America’s first Primark, an experience!

While out there, it was also my birthday, so on Day 4, I celebrated my birthday and went to a nice restaurant, which was nice! I had a lovely, chilled day, and being abroad for my birthday was weird!

On Friday, the 6th of November, we headed to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas event; it was amazing and really got me in the Christmas spirit!

Our first chilled day of the holiday was day 6; we just chilled around the pool and hotel room; we did have to head to the shop and decided to try Target!

Day 7 saw us make our second Disney park visit of the holiday; we headed to Animal Kingdom as Mum had not been before; it was a brilliant day, and mum loved it. It was busier than we thought, though!

Discovery Cove was next on our busy schedule; this was one of the highlights of the holiday! We met Clipper and spent some one-on-one time with her; we both loved it!

On day 9, we had a short break because it had been busy. On day 10, we headed to EPCOT, one of my favourite places too! This time, we both got to meet Pooh!!

On day 11, our holiday was starting to wrap up; on this day, we headed to Disney Springs and Walmart to get gifts for family and friends. It was a lovely day, although we bought too much stuff!!

Our final holiday trip was on day 12, when we headed to SeaWorld, again one of my highlights of Orlando; we both loved it here and enjoyed ourselves. Finally, Mum got to experience the shark tunnel!

Our final two days of the holiday were a chilled few days. Mum wanted some final sun time, so I headed to the cinema, as I always love American cinemas!

Finally, after two incredible weeks, it was time to go home! We had the best time and did not want to go home! We were in for a shock with the temperature too! As we arrived, it was like -1c where we had been in 28c+ weather! A shock to the system!

Overall, we had a fantastic time in Florida, but we didn’t achieve our goal of going to the restaurants in America. I’m not sure why, really; it might be the cost to get around. Uber was more expensive this time, and we spent roughly £550 in total on Uber; I feel it might be worth investing in a car to get around easier next time. But we loved it nonetheless.

2025 plans

So, on to the final part of the blog – my plans for 2025! Currently, one plan is set in concrete, as we have paid for the holiday and the hotel. My friend and I are heading to Portugal for 4 days in March! I am looking forward to that!

We have some small plans in the works, but nothing has been sorted yet. I don’t currently have a plan to go to Florida next year; there was a plan in the works for me to take my brother and his wife to Orlando; however, that was placed on hold due to my becoming an Uncle! My brother and his wife had a child 2 days ago, so they won’t be able to take them that far aboard while they are really young. We will do it, but it might have to wait a few years.

As it stands, I have no further plans. I want to start my UK trips again in 2025, but nothing is certain. On top of that, I will be making some significant life changes next year and need to buckle down and sort my money out, my fitness and my health. Hopefully, by the end of 2025, these should at least be slightly sorted!

But you know how it goes! Sometimes, something comes and smacks you in the face! Anyway, rest assured I will be blogging throughout the year!

Life Plans for 2025

As I said, I am about to undergo significant changes in my life. I won’t go into full details right now, but I will be moving jobs, moving to my new hometown, and starting my own business with a friend. I won’t tally on too much here as this is supposed to be a travel blog, but I wanted to mention that my blog may be quiet at times during 2025!

So, it’s been a hot minute since I gave an update! I last spoke in March 2024, when I went to Nottingham! Life has been hectic, and I have not had a chance to travel for a while! I had a mini trip back to Nottingham with my mum, but I didn’t blog as there wasn’t anything to add! We went to see Disney in Concert, which was going through the last 100 years of Disney. It was awesome!

Now, onto the update! My next trip is… York! Next weekend, I am heading to York. I have always been interested in the history of York, and I have heard a few good things! I am staying at Hampton by Hilton. I am there for three days, and I plan on relaxing; however, I will explore the castle and the prison and wander around the city! It should be good! Look out for my blog at the weekend!

My next update is I am going on a two-day trip to…Barcelona in Spain, with my friend. This will be happening at the end of the month, and it will be my first non-English speaking country, so it should be interesting!! It’s only a short trip, but I plan on blogging for two days, so be sure to follow!

And, of course, in November, we are heading back to Orlando! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas tickets go on sale tomorrow, so I will wait for them to buy!! It will be a brilliant evening!

So, as I said above, it’s been a busy few months! I have been making plans but not much has moved forward yet. I am just waiting to see what I can do about work before we plan more trips! I have made one confirmed plan though! Which I am about to talk about now!

My first trip of 2024 is…. Plymouth! I will be heading over to Devon on the 27th of February 2024 for 3 nights. It should be good! The last time I went to Plymouth was in Plympton which is where my Aunt and Uncle were for a period of time. I don’t remember much though as I was quite young!

I am going to see Michael McIntyre on the last night which will be awesome. I am planning on exploring Plymouth a bit on the other days. I want to go to the National Marine Aquarium which is one of the biggest Aquariums in the UK. I have always liked sealife!

I will of course have a look around and explore Plymouth a bit, I am only there for 3 days so I won’t be able explore it all, but I am looking forward to it! I will take you along for the ride even if it might be slightly boring!!

For the rest of the year, currently there are 2 trips planned, Canada and Lake District. Unfortunately, we don’t know when we can do those trips and is dependent on work but hopefully, we will be able to have an update regarding those two trips soon! We are just waiting on work to settle down and see what we can do. I also want to do some mini breaks on my days off to European countries, but nothing is set in stone on that yet!

The next confirmed trip is in November 2024, which of course is mum and I’s trip to Orlando, Florida! Flights have already been booked and a deposit has been put on our accommodation which is Cabana Bay. We need to pay for that soon! So planning is well under way for our next Florida trip!

Other than that, who knows?! We could end up anywhere and we have a whole year to fit it in! Let’s see what 2024 brings us!

So, to start the year I went on my first ever trip abroad, I had never been that far before and never really had a proper holiday. My first destination this year was Orlando, Florida, USA. I had always wanted to go to Orlando ever since I was kid. I was really nervous, and I was not sure how it was going to go. But I surprised myself and I really enjoyed it! I was there for 14 days and stayed at the Aventura Hotel on Universals Resort.

It was a really good hotel, it felt modern and unique and a perfect stopping point for me to explore Orlando! Overall, I was kept very busy, I pretty much went to every theme park during my 14 days. I did get a little bored toward the end, but I think that is because I had done everything I wanted to. I should have ensured I had things planned for my last few days. However, it was still an awesome holiday, and I loved every minute of it and it has really opened the door to travel!

Slightly non-travel related but also this year I met my new crewmate who has now become one of my closest friends, she has taught me a lot and she is also a lover of travel too, so I have been able to get tips from her and we are planning a few trips next year so that she can show me how to do holidays properly as apparently, I don’t know how! Anyway, if you are reading this, thank you for all you have done for me this year, you have taught me important lessons and I look forward to traveling with you and moving with you on our careers!

Next up for trips this year was Blackpool, which was in July, I decided I wanted to do a short break, this was largely encouraged by my new friend, as I started to change my perspective on life. She showed me I can have a nice short break here in the United Kingdom and don’t always have to go aboard! So, I headed to Blackpool for 3 days as I had always wanted to visit!

Blackpool was awesome! I loved the road trip and want to do more in the future, people say that road trips are boring but for me it isn’t as I have barely left Chelmsford, so getting to see new places as I drive has been great! I stayed at the Premier Inn, which was nice, but I made the mistake of not booking a hotel with Air Con!! I have learned that lesson the hard way!!

I really enjoyed my trip away, I visited Madam Tussauds, Sealife Centre and Blackpool Tower. I loved them all! Blackpool Tower was much more impressive than I thought! I did get a bit nervous standing on the glass roof though!! I would definitely

My final abroad trip of the year was a revisit, but this time I took my mum! In September, mum and I headed to Orlando, Florida! This time we flew out of Gatwick. Overall I preferred Heathrow, Gatwick felt busy and there was a lot of work to be done in the terminal too which probably didn’t help with the feeling of crampness!

For our holiday in September, we stayed at Cabana Bay which is opposite to Aventura Hotel. We had an awesome time! Mum got to meet Winnie the Pooh and experience Florida and we also managed to get a bit of a break which was nice! It was VERY hot though… temperatures rarely went below 35c during the day, and it was by far the hottest I have ever felt! I knew it was warm but didn’t realise how warm it was!!

Overall, we had an awesome time! Mum loved every minute of it. It went far too quickly though, so in future, we will ensure we have more than just 7 days. It felt rushed almost and we had to cram everything in, so we plan on doing a longer break next year. More on that soon!

Along with my holidays this year we had a few small events here and there. I went to the Disney 100 Exabition event at the Excel centre in November, and mum and I went to see Disney on Ice 100 show. It was awesome! I was going to blog but in the end I didn’t!

Overall, 2023 has got to be the best year I have had in a long while! I got to experience different forms of travel and I loved it. My favourite trip of the year was going with Mum to Florida, it makes a difference when you have someone to travel with! She had an awesome time and I haven to seen her that happy in a very long time!

Along with the travel, I have been working on myself, since September, I started taking my weight loss seriously and since 20th September 2023 I have lost a total of 1st and 8lb which is a huge achievement for me! Alongside with this I have been working on other parts of myself mentally with the help of my friend!

Here’s to 2024!!

2024 plans

Next year is going to be an even BIGGER year! I have a lot of plans in the works especially with my friend as we have a few trips planned already. I would like to do a lot more traveling next year. I am not exactly sure yet on where I will start but there are plans being formed for the early part of 2024, hopefully by January, I will have a good idea of what I am doing!

The first planned trip that has been booked is another trip to Florida, Orlando with Mum from the 4th of November 2024 until the 18th of November 2024. Thats right we are going again! This time we have booked 2 weeks and have plans to visit Restaurants throughout Orlando as we didn’t have time last time!

We are going back to Cabana Bay but this time we are staying in a family suite as another lesson learned was there was nowhere to sit down, and the chairs were not very comfortable! The family suite has sofas and a mini kitchen, so we don’t have to always eat in the food hall downstairs as it gets quite expensive! I chose to fly with Virgin Atlantic as out of the two, Virgin was the best. Heathrow is a better airport too! We also have Premium too! We are going all out on this one!

The other plans still in the planning stage include going to the Lake District hiking with my friend and her husband, a trip to Canada later in the year for a week potentially a bit of skiing too, again this is with my new friend I talked about above! I have also got my friend to plan me a surprise holiday where I will give her some money to book me somewhere in the world! I would like to go to Glasgow as well next year! So, a few things to look forward to!

Personally speaking, I am hoping to achieve my ideal weight which is 18st, I am on target to hit this by March, but it could be delayed for many reasons, but that’s the tentative plan! Alongside with this I will begin training toward a new career which will stay under wraps for now! Plus, I plan on having more flexible hours at work so I can travel more and enjoy my life more!

So, where have I been? It has been a manic few months at work, and I haven’t had any travel since. I can’t believe it’s been just under six months since my fantastic trip to Florida. It feels like it was a lifetime ago! I never did a review for my holiday… sorry about that!! I will ensure I do a review for my trip in September!

Moving on….what is this mini adventure? Well, on the 5th of July 2023, for two nights, I am going to….. BLACKPOOL! So I will be blogging my mini adventure on my blog. For those that don’t know, Blackpool is a famous seaside town in Lancashire. They are known for their annual light show, Blackpool illuminations, and old-style amusement park.

I have heard good things about Blackpool, and my friend, persuaded me to get up and book it during a break from work. I am looking forward to a mini vacation and feel like I need a breather! I am only there for three days, so I will not see everything, but I have plans to go to Sealife Center, Madame Tussauds and the Blackpool Tower. I will be blogging my experience as I go along!

My next trip after Blackpool is in September, when I am heading to Florida again, and this time, I am taking my mum! This time we are staying at Cabana Bay, opposite Adventura Hotel! I will be blogging my experience again with a few blogs on the build-up to the holiday like last time. We only have 74 days left until Flordia! I can’t wait!! I know my mum is really excited too!

2023 is looking exciting as I start my travels aboard, starting with my Florida Trip on the 17th of January 2023 (Wow…. 17 days and I’ll be in Orlando… scary!). As it stands so far, I have two trips planned for next year where I’ll take you along with me. I’ll be heading to Orlando again in September, this time for a chilled holiday for myself and mum, but I will be blogging along the way!

Over the next few weeks, I’ll post the build-up to my trip, and I plan to start a daily blog from the 16th of January, 2023, if all goes to plan!

My new Year’s resolutions are to 1) Travel more – see the world! 2) Get healthy! (I know, cliche, really!) 3) Stress Less!
