Hi all! So today marks my 3rd day in York, and it has been awesome! It’s been nice to have a little break! There was a chance to my plan today, which I will explain after the picture!
It was not quite what I had planned for today, but nonetheless, it was enjoyable! As I said yesterday, I initially planned to go to the gym and head to the castle museum. I didn’t head to the gym today as I was exhausted from yesterday’s exploration and had been pushing myself too hard. I did do a walk, though! So, first things first! Breakfast! I had a waffle today; it was awesome. They had a limited edition batter, which was blueberry, and it was lovely! It didn’t quite go according to plan, though!
After breakfast, I headed back to my room. I was going to book a castle museum, but I was shocked to learn it wasn’t actually a castle museum… it was a Victorian, ’60s, and war walk around. Now, usually, this would not bother me as I love my history, but I was expecting it to be more like a, well, castle. I am unsure why they call it the castle museum when it has nothing to do with castles! Plus it was £17! which is a lot really! So, I decided not to go ahead with the visit. I decided to walk over to Floss Island and complete the wall!
I saw where I went wrong this time, as I should have continued on, but now I can officially say I conquered the York wall! It was a nice walk with good views of York, and it seeped with history! Once I had done the wall, I headed over to a big B&M (yes, I know, I have one at home!) and bought some snacks. It started to rain, so it was obviously time for coffee! There was a Starbucks in this retail park, so I stopped there and had coffee while waiting for the rain to pass! My coffee!
With that done, I headed to Morrisons, got some lunch and dinner, and returned to the hotel. All in all, I walked 9700 steps and about 3km. It was a nice walk, but I was exhausted! I was disappointed to see that room service had missed my room, though! But oh well! I relaxed in my hotel room, playing some games for the remainder of the afternoon and evening. It was awesome!
Tomorrow, I head home! I have to check out at 1100 tomorrow, which isn’t too bad. I had a brilliant time and really enjoyed myself. I needed this break, which has worked wonders for my mental bandwidth. Hopefully, that will help me get through the coming weeks! I will do a mini blog tomorrow, but there won’t be much! My next trip is in 2 weeks, going to Barcelona for two days! See you tomorrow briefly!
